For 50 years, Walter F. Uveges, CRB, Realtor Emeritus, Broker-associate, has been making his mark on Middlesex County as the consummate realtor and advertising manager for J.J. Elek Realty, finding new homes for individuals, families and businesses alike.
Walter attributes some of his success to his deep roots in the Perth Amboy and Woodbridge communities. “This area is a great place to live that is convenient to everything, but it’s mainly about the community. When you like the people, you want to stay there,” said Walter who now gets referrals from the children and grandchildren of those he has helped during his tenure with J.J. Elek.
He is a member of the National Association of Realtors and Central Jersey Multiple Listing Services (CJMLS). In 1996, Walter earned the prestigious Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) title, an elite designation awarded to only 3% of Realtors following a rigorous certification process. Walter’s expertise on mortgage rates coupled with his first-hand knowledge of NJ neighborhoods and property values enables him to get clients the best deals at the best rates.
Walter is also a proud veteran who spent three years on active duty in the Army and three more years in the Army Reserves.
When it comes to advertising properties, Walter’s reputation is second to none. “If I advertise a house, I inspect it and find something to talk about. I know what features sell a house and I’m always able to find a catchy headline that would attract someone to read the ad,” explained Walter who has earned 27 New Jersey Press Association (NJPA) awards and four New York Times awards for his real estate advertisements. Among Walter’s most celebrated and successful headlines was an ad for a restaurant that was put up for sale that touted: “If pots and pans are your bread and butter…”
With a combined 57 years in realty under his belt, Walter shows no signs of slowing down. “I don’t like not working. I’m still going strong and I enjoy what I do,” he said.
