Road to Hope grew out of a recognition that too many parents in the Woodbridge area struggle with a child who has a substance use disorder, but they should not have to struggle alone. Since our first meeting almost two years ago, we have formed friendships, supported one another, and used our collective voices to advocate for prevention programs and access to treatment for anyone who needs it.

We also work to help those entering recovery by raising funds to support people who are trying to put their lives back together. Expenses such as transportation to treatment, fees to enter sober liv-ing homes (one month’s rent) and numerous other hurdles can block a path to successful recovery. Many people with SUD have “burned their bridges” with family and friends, and find themselves with no money and no place to live after having received a short period of treatment. Our goal is to prevent relapses by helping with these expenses, while providing family support to help rebuild lives.

We have also established a Facebook page. You can find us at Facebook/Road to Hope Wood-bridge.
If you are a family member of someone who has or has been lost to a substance use disorder, con-sider joining us.
