New Jersey Senior Athletes  “Get Ready…  Get Set… Go”

Olympic Competition Set for 20 Challenging Sporting Events

Mayor John E. McCormac and the New Jersey Senior Olympic Committee today announced that Woodbridge Township will again host the 2022 New Jersey Senior Olympic games on Sept. 9, 10 & 11 – for the 16th consecutive year.

In announcing details of the 2022 New Jersey Senior Olympic games from the Woodbridge Community Center – the central headquarters and main sporting venue for the upcoming senior competition – Mayor McCormac said that the senior games track the goals of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign that encourages Senior residents to engage in a healthy and fit lifestyle.

“I am extremely proud that Woodbridge Township is the permanent host of the annual New Jersey Senior Olympic games,” Mayor McCormac said.  “Woodbridge Township and the State of New Jersey are home to a significant and growing senior population which is more-and-more engaged in an active and physically fit lifestyle. The New Jersey Senior Olympics embodies today’s senior athlete by featuring sporting events geared to senior-level competition.  And, even before competition gets underway, every senior athlete is a winner just by staying in shape and participating in a routine physical fitness regimen.  I am encouraging senior athletes from across the state to sign-up and participate in this year’s games.”

Mayor McCormac announced a special incentive to encourage Woodbridge Township Senior athletes to compete in the 2022 games – register by August 26 and the Woodbridge Senior Olympic Committee and the Mayor’s Office will pay $30.00 toward the $40.00 General Registration fee – that means Woodbridge Senior athletes pay $10.00 to participate and compete in up to three Olympic events.  To take advantage of this special offer, Woodbridge Township Senior Olympic registrants must obtain the 2022 General Information & Registration booklet – available at the Community Center, Mayor’s Office in Town Hall, or on-line at www.njseniorolympics.com.  Complete and submit the General Registration Form (you must be a Woodbridge Township resident with a Woodbridge Township mailing address) and forward the completed form along with a $10.00 check or money order payable to the NJSO/GSG.
